A Siloam Springs, Arkansas Wedding
My favorite weddings are the ones with tears, not of sadness of course, but happiness. The weddings that have so many feelings happening all at once, where you can just feel the love between the bride and groom. Richard and Catherine have so much personality and are not afraid to express themselves. I met Richard a couple years ago because of my good friend Carina (who always assists me with photoshoots and weddings), he is an amazing friend! He is always there for everyone, going above and beyond. When he reached out to me about possibly shooting his wedding, I was thrilled!! For their engagement session we headed downtown in Siloam Springs. Richard and Catherine met here, and live here, so it had a lot of meaning.
Catherine was a very organized bride, she knew what she wanted and always had a go with the flow vibe, nothing was stressing this girl out on her big day! I love arriving at a wedding and everyone is so happy to be apart of the day and are willing to help with whatever. The location was GORGEOUS! I was obsessed, it was perfect for portraits and the size of their wedding.
The whole day was very relaxed, no one was stressed or rushed, everyone was just taking in the experience! Being in Arkansas means the weather has a mind of its own. There was a chance of rain for the day, but we were hoping and praying we wouldn’t get hit! Although everyone was prepared for the rain, and they say it’s good luck, the storm held off for us. Of course we got a little bit of the humidity, but we made it work.
Richard and the guys got ready at another location, so we were waiting for him to arrive to start the first look (my favorite!) When the guys arrived they had some final touches to add before we got started.
Catherine and her bridesmaids got ready upstairs, these girls were truly the best. They made sure the bride was treated like a queen, I’d say Catherine was pretty lucky to have such great friends! Everyone was friendly and helpful. I’ll be honest, the entire wedding day is my favorite, but I love seeing the bride and her mother interact on the big day. Catherine’s mother was so sweet!
I know I talk about this all the time, but I love when my couples do first looks!! Seeing the happy tears, excitement, it all just makes my heart so happy.
Up next? Bridal party portraits!! This bunch had so much personality, they worked together so well and were easy to work with!
The sun was out while everyone was getting ready, but just before the ceremony the clouds started rolling in! Everyone started lining up to get the ceremony started. Guests picked their seats, excited to see the gorgeous bride walk out the door!
One of the best parts of wedding ceremonies are the vows, I know when I see the bride or groom pull out a piece of paper, it’s about to get real!!
I made it through the ceremony without tearing up!! We snuck off to take some Bride and Groom portraits, but first, my favorite portrait with the bridal party..
Now let’s see this beautiful HUSBAND & WIFE!
As always, following the ceremony is cake and dances. Catherines family work hard setting up the reception area, they did an amazing job!! The bride and groom didn’t have to life a finger on their wedding day.
Fun Fact: The wedding cake was Vegan!! It was as delicious as it looks!!
I know I have a lot of favorite parts, but the father daughter dances really gets me sometimes! So much emotion, the song was perfect as well. Makes my heart so happy!
Richard and Catherine did an exit before riding off for the evening. They drove off in a Buick that played a big part of Catherine’s family, it was GORGEOUS!
Congratulations Mr. and Mrs. Robertson! I wish you the best in your marriage!
