Last year around this time Thai and I hit the road to Fayetteville to do a photoshoot. Last year Dakota and I had just moved back from California and I honestly hadn’t been behind the camera in so long. I had so many photoshoot ideas but no one to do them with. When we moved back I wanted to do a laundromat photoshoot and just be creative, so that’s what we did! Fast forward to 2019 and here we are again, this time with a different approach. I had met Thai through Carina in 2017, I’d say we hit it off pretty good. She was easy to get along with and always down to have a good time.
This year we decided to go for a vintage feel when taking photos at vintage stock. We wanted a record shop vibe, and we knew Vintage stock had a section we could use so we went for it. Of course Thai had the cutest outfits to fit any theme we did. We checked out Fast Lanes because an arcade vibe was right up are alley. Fast Lanes has a decent size arcade and the lights are so colorful! It was seriously perfect. Surprisingly it wasn’t as busy as we thought it would be, being it was a Friday and Spring Break, we got pretty lucky.
I actually had Carina go into Vintage stock before we took pictures, just to make sure we wouldn’t get kicked out!! Fast Lanes was so big and busy, I wasn’t necessarily worried about it.
I’ve come a long way with my photography, I used to be terrified shooting indoors. I used to think I always had to have natural light in order to get a good photo. Well, that definitely was not the case! Fast Lanes was a little dark once you walked inside, the only lights were dim ceiling lights and everything from the games and attractions. Vintage Stock was super bright and very open. I am so thankful to have amazing friends that not only are willing to do random photoshoots with me but support me while I grow!
