Carina and I have been friends for about 5 years now, can you believe that?! We talked once in a blue moon during 2014, but never actually met until 2015. My husband, Dakota, has been friends with Carina even longer. This past month I recently got my new camera, so I was wanting to try out new things, explore some new locations!! Carina works at Lowes, so I thought, PERFECT let’s do it! I’ve seen people doing photoshoots in Hobby Lobby or doing an ugly location challenge, so I wanted to give it a go.
I wanted to hit the departments we could have a little fun with, I knew the paint section was certainly on the list! We started in lumber, everyone remembers the blue carts right? As a kid I always begged my dad to get one, just so my sister and I could ride on it as we shopped, because we both knew we were gonna be there forever and a day! This might have been a great time of year as well, because the garden section had some gorgeous flowers for us to play with. Fun fact for this session, Carina worked this day, we snuck in this photoshoot on her lunch break! Honestly, the middle photo below looks like an Ad, I love it!!
Carina started out as just a cashier, she hardly new anything about Lowe’s. Today, she is a Head Cashier and you would think she runs the place. It so crazy how much you can learn and achieve over the years. She’s very friendly which makes dealing with customers a breeze, she knows everyone! I really mean that, we can’t go anywhere without Carina running into at least one person she knows. Carina currently works at the Springdale location, but is originally from Siloam Springs. Once, we were at the Siloam Springs Walmart and I kid you not she ran into four people she knew.
I recommend going out of your comfort zone for a photoshoot, it can be a great experience!! I am so used to shooting outside, so we I get the chance to expand my horizons and adventure out of my comfort zone, I take the opportunity. It allows me to learn new things, or practice techniques I’ve been learning.
Don’t be afraid to try new things, it can lead to something great!
